Watch out, world. Gli Azzurri are suited up in their latest kit, made for this summer's competition in Brasil. It’s a bolder evolution of past shirts: fluorescent blue piping and colored cuffs provide a fresh take on the team’s signature hue as well as the national flag of Italy. The shirt will unify the team (and its fans) as they prepare for their 5th star pursuit the following year.
As they look forward to the resumption of their vital 2014 qualification fixtures, the Republic Of Ireland have unveiled their new black away shirt. Inspired by the influx of new young players into the squad, the new Eire shirt celebrates 'a new dawn' for the national team and their aspirations. Currently third in a tight qualification group, the Republic face a double header against Sweden and Austria later this month that will have a significant bearing on their chances of making it to Brazil next summer.
According to a statement released by the club, the kit was launched at an exclusive event for season ticket-holders, and is now available for sale. The 2013 kit is thought to be inspired by the city of Vancouver, with the fundamental elements of the club's pre-existing kit (colors, logo and brand) all remaining the same. It is also an "evolution of the original MLS primary kit" according to the statement, which the club launched in 2010.
