AIK an abbreviation for Allmänna Idrottsklubben (literally “The General Sports Club” or “The Public Sports Club”), when needed international AIK Stockholm, a Swedish football club based at Råsunda stadium in Solna, a municipality in Stockholm County bordering Stockholm City Centre. Current 2011 Allsvenskan runner-ups, and managed by Andreas Alm the club presented its new home soccer jersey for the 2012 season made by Adidas.
Acording to AIK Stockholm’s website and translated to English,
On April 18, 1937, AIK played the opening match at Rasunda, a 4-0 win over Malmo FF. 75 years later this historic venue marks it last season – a fact highlighted in this year’s shirt from adidas. The new kit features the words of AIK’s famed song on its inner upper back area: “Far have I traveled and much have I seen, but on my team, I never get enough. Storms have raged, but the wind has turned, and it takes me back to Råsunda’s grass!”
“AIK has the strongest and most vibrant fan culture, so that the lines from a song that is heard from Råsundas stands now entering our shirt feels completely natural. The last year at the Råsundas is obviously special and the club will make it a season to remember”, says Andreas Alm, head coach of AIK.
The campaign material for the new shirt also includes club icon for the last thirteen seasons – Daniel Tjernström. It includes a video good old “Tjerna” gearing up in the AIK 2012/13 home kit and making his way down the tunnel towards the Rasunda’s pitch.
