French customs workers destroyed the soccer jersey that David Trezeguet wore during the 1998 World Cup final, because they thought it was fake. However, the jersey, was an original one bought over the internet by a renowned retro jersey collector.
Olivier Demolis, the collector, paid over 10,000 dollars to a Brazilian citizen over the web. He got a call from the custom telling him to present himself at their office because they have a message for him. When he got to the customs office, he was told the shirt was destroyed because it was fake. Now he is suing the French government to get back his 10,000 dollars.
