Tallahassee, FL – For the second straight year, the Florida State soccer team is ‘Painting the Plex Pink’ for Breast Cancer Awareness when the Seminoles take on the Miami Hurricanes, Sunday, October 4 at 1:00 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Seminoles as they take on their intra-state rival while helping raise funds to support a great cause. Seventy-five percent of the proceeds will stay right in Tallahassee to benefit the Tallahassee Memorial Sharon Ewing Walker Breast Cancer Health Center, while 25 percent of the funds will go the Kay Yow Foundation.
The Seminole soccer team will do their part to ‘Paint the Plex Pink’ by wearing special pink Nike jerseys for Sunday’s contest against the Hurricanes. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase the authentic gear as all 22 game jerseys will be auctioned off online at Seminoles.com beginning Thursday, October 1 and ending Thursday, October 8.
Donations will also be accepted at the gate on Sunday to benefit breast cancer. Those fans giving over a $10 donation will receive a t-shirt courtesy of the Tallahassee Memorial Sharon Ewing Walker Breast Health Center, T-Formation and FOX 49 WTLH. A limited number of pink pom-poms will also be provided to fans courtesy of FOX 49 WTLH.
