Thanks to locally based AV projectionists Lumen, 60 foot tall pictures and videos of first team stars Jack Hunt, Danny Ward and the legendary Andy Booth wearing all the new Umbro home kit were projected onto the face of the town’s iconic train station.
Fans gathered at St. George’s Square from 9.30pm as dusk fell on the town to catch the first glimpse of the new home kit, which featured the logo of new home shirt sponsor Rekorderlig.
The second home kit supplied to the Club by Umbro, the shirt takes a new stance at Town’s traditional blue and white stripes – with a chequered pattern of dark and light blue forming this year’s thinner stripes. The shirt looks markedly different this season thanks to a new V-neck collar and a white central stripe as opposed to this season’s blue, with the stripes also continuing down the arms.
This season’s white shorts feature much more detail on the reverse, whereas the black socks feature a new white band across the top, including the famous Umbro logo.
Huddersfield Town’s Commercial Director Sean Jarvis commented:
“Huddersfield Town is now a Championship football club and we want to make sure that our operation off the field is of that standard, so it was important that we launched our first ‘Championship’ home kit in style.
“Everyone at the Club would like to extend their gratitude to Lumen; the projection looked unbelievable and it was a proud moment to see the new kit and our players taking over St. George’s Square in such a breath-taking fashion.
“The new kit looked fantastic and the reaction we’ve had so far is really positive.
